Privacy Policy

BriskSplits ("we", "us") is a product of BriskNest US LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect when you use brisksplits.com and the BriskSplits app, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Group data you enter: group names, member names (including guests), expenses, amounts, splits, recurring bills, shopping-list items and recorded payments.
• Payment handles you choose to add: Venmo username, Cash App $cashtag, PayPal.me name, Zelle email or phone. These are shown to people in your groups so they can pay you.
• Waitlist: your email address if you join the waitlist.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) kept for security and troubleshooting.

Demo mode

If you use the app in demo mode, your data is stored only in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

What we don't do

• We do not show ads or sell your personal information.
• We do not hold, move or process money. Settle-up buttons open third-party apps (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle), whose own privacy policies apply.
• We do not collect bank account or card numbers.

How we use data

To run the service: sign you in, show your groups to their members, calculate balances, send waitlist or service emails you asked for, and keep the service secure.

Sharing

Members of a group can see that group's data. We use a hosting provider in the United States to store data. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and data, email us from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.

Security

Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and sign-in tokens are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Children

BriskSplits is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Residents of some US states and other countries may have additional rights; contact us to use them.

Changes

We will post updates here and change the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
